Hi there,

in WSA, relational data source, right click on a data item in the source, click on filter for report. See screenshot attached; my colleague gets the dialog on the left (which I've never seen before), while I get the dialog on the right, which we are all used to and my colleague was expecting.

Since the screens are from the same source and field but different users, I am assuming this is a user-specific setting that can be made somewhere - but which one and where?

Kind regards,
hespora.

Lynn

Are you both using the same browser and version?

hespora

just confirmed: yes, we're both on exactly the same version of IE

Lynn

How about compatibility mode? That is recommended for supported versions of IE 10.x.x (if memory serves). Might also be worth checking that the version of IE you have is supported for whatever version of Cognos you are using. Have you upgraded from 10.2.1 to 10.2.2 recently? Might want to clear cache if so.

It looks like a flaky issue with the browser rather than a preference setting to me, but maybe others will chime in with more ideas.

I've been on his screen via screensharing, and I now too believe it's a browser or connection issue. His load times are through the roof and what really weirds m out is if he just opens cognos connection, the browser uses a different font than usual.

I've tried compatibility mode, but no change (and I don't have that set on my machine either anyways). No recent updates, and it was working fine for him yesterday. The one thing that's changed since y-day is that he was in-office then and is working from home via VPN today. But then again, I sometimes work from home as well, and I do not see these issues.

We're gonna take it up with our internal IT. Initially, I just thought maybe that dialog is a "valid" dialog that comes up if you flip this or that switch.
