Hi,

Is it possible to recreate an FM Model from a package?
I've googled and found some very old posts suggesting a free tool or moving some XML, but I was wondering if anyone has done it recently or has any personal experience in doing it.

Why do I need to do this?
Don't ask. :)

If all you've got is the package I'd say you were basically scr3wed. If it was a very simple model and a corresponding simple package you might be able to reverse engineer the model, but it wouldn't be a simple task.

I've done this several times for clients who have lost their models. You're correct that you can use the XML instructions to download the model from the content store.

The one thing to be aware of though - is that the package/model that's stored in the content store will only contain what's published in the package (and what's selected to be in the package but hidden). Any query subjects or objects that were not published are not recoverable.
