Hi Experts ,

I have a cube build out of cognos transformer and it has a measure called national sales .

I dont want certain group of users to see this measure in analysis studio ,but this measure will be used in report studio to create reports which will show the  national sales growth and will use this national sales measure to calculate  .

In cognos transformer , I have custom views were I can grant or not grant the access to a measure and If i dont grant and if the users runs this pre built report , he will get an error as this measures access was not given in custom views.

So I checked with IBM and they told there is no option for this specific use case other than creating another package and granting only run access and hiding that package and using that only for report building  and use the current package for analysis studio with that measure with no access.

Do you guys have any idea as the above uses case , were you wanted to hide a measure from user in analysis studio , but still use it as part of calculation in report studio .

Any suggestions are appreciated .

Thanks,

Francis aka khayman

no. you hide the measure, it can't be used.
