Good Morning

We are creating a seperate active directory application id for Transformer signon to authenticate with our namespace. This will allow Transformer access to execute Report Studio reports which it uses as a source.

Once the new application id is created, what role is recommended for the new user or does it not matter as long as the belong to any role/group ?

Thanks

Hi,

From a technical perspective, making the ID a member of the Consumers role should suffice.

From a licensing perspective, you need to check very carefully whether your approach breaches your license terms. If you are using the Named User license model, each user (ie in your case AD signon) should be a real user, not a generic ID, according to the license docs. If you are using the PVU (ie CPU) license model, it's fine.

Cheers!
