In Impromtu we were able to associate data items. i.e. [slot win/loss] for [customer id].
Now if I want to associate a data item I have to write it like this.... total([slot win/loss]for[customer id])

Does anyone know how I can associate the data items without using the calc at the start of the statement???

Thanks.

Set the column's Group Scan property, to reference the Grouped item(s) it is associated with.

If you use the expression without any "for" clause such as total(slot win/loss), cognos automatically will group it depending on the row and columns it aligns with. If you use "for" clause, then the total will be for that "for" regardless of row and column alignment.

Just curious and for future reference's sake, can you explain what "It" means in regards to "It worked" please?

Thanks!!

ha ha ha... sorry, I was talking about your suggestion. With the grouped items. Thanks.

And I was wondering how  my "no solution" post resolved the issue...
