Hello Experts,

How can I figure out which report is sourcing from a Package or an External File or a TM1 cube.

We are using Cognos BI 10.2.1 and TM1 10.2

In my organization, we develop reports in report studio and the data source is either TM1 cube or an external file or a package.
I need to send a list about which report is sourcing from which of these 3 options.
What's the procedure or way to figure out the data source of reports.

You can open the report properties to see which package the report is based on. This is located on the General tab. That would mean opening each report properties and manually compiling a list.

Alternatively, if you have auditing set up you can get a list of reports and their packages from the report executions audit query subject. This would only identify those that have been executed, so a report that was deployed but never run wouldn't show up on the list (I think).

There are also third party tools that assist with managing metadata.

Take a look at MotioPi, I think it'll do most if not all of what you're trying to do. (No connection to the company and I'm sure there are lots of others out there that do a similar job...it's just that that's the one I've tried).
