Hi All,

I am using Cognos11 analytics and created two queries in report and below are the details.
Query 1
ID
Name

Query2
ID
Name

I applied union on Query3 with the two queries ,but I didnot get any coulmns into the Query3 and getting "member6 is not available"error.
Attached error screenshot is for your reference.
Please help me on this...

Thanks,
Kolla

Relational or dimensional package?

Are ID and Name in both queries the same data type (if you are using a relational package)?

What have IBM said about it when you logged it?

Hi MF,

Thanks for your reply.
I am using Relational model and both columns having same datatype.
After union no columns available in Query3.
In the properties pane of UNION operator, I clicked on Projection list then Iam getting member6 not available error.

Thanks,
Kolla

Out of curiosity I tried it late last night using one of the sample relational packages. I can't get a union to work either. I'd log this with IBM support if I were you :)

Cheers!

Hi,

Were you able to fix it? I am having the same problem (Relational model). I am not getting "member6 is not available"error but I don't have any data items for my union query. What have IBM said about it?

Thank you.

Mfg

Hey all,

If getting union values in the data container is your only concern then you can get Union data items in the union query:

go to the union query, navigate to the tools and then drag data item  then you see that union query is there as source. So from there u can drag and drop columns to the query and build layout using these union query items.

still Projection list property is a bug as it is not generating automatically but once you do the above stuff you can find all those query items in the projection list.

Cheers..!!
