Hi everyone,
I'm using the Map option in creating a New Report. I have setup the following:
America - Continental 48) Region Layer States.
I have dropped the Dollar Calculation on the Region Layer (States)
for COLOR: and The State Abbreviation for the LOCATION:

I can run the report and the US Map shows but the Each State within the Map
is not based on a different color. The entire map is in Gray color.

Do I need to setup Conditional Style based on the Total Dollars Calculation per each state
for the map?

If you know of a good document or link that deals with maps, could you pls share.

Thanks so much.

:) :)

I noticed I'm getting the following error when I first create the Map and run it.
"The map chart data contains references to missing region names. Map file: 'usCounty48.cmf', missing region names: 'AK, AS, FM, GU, HI, MH, MP, PR, PW, VI'. Review the chart data and the map dictionary."

Thanks in advance for your time

Lynn

You can click on the region layer and set the palette as desired. It should automatically assign colors based on the settings you define in the palette.

The missing information indicates that you have data for state abbreviations that are not on the map. If you look at the ones reported you can see that AK and HI are listed so I suspect that Alaska and Hawaii are not on your map and that it is just the continental United States. The other codes are probably US territories rather than states, for example PR for Puerto Rico and GU for Guam. There is a property to ignore data for missing items.

Hi Lynn,
Thx so much. That really helped.

When a map is displayed, the Total Saved value is all aggregated to the total country value of $42,609.00

I'm trying to get it to work that it'll show it based on what we have in the database. Like the Saved Value based on each State.

I may have to create a Subject Query in the Framework Manager to have the Dollars saved Per Each State and then use it
within the Map.

What do you think?

See attached please.

Thx so much.

Lynn

Yes, you need the measure broken down by state in order to map it. How would it know which state gets which money otherwise?

Ok, thx. Never mind, I'm just being a little slow on this.  :o
Thx Lynn. :) :)

My apologies for taking more of your time.

When you mentioned Pallet would the following approach
work. It's not working for me as unlock, select the Map, Conditional Styles, New
Conditional Style, Select the Total Saved, and a New and Enter a Threshold Value of 100
and give it a Background color.

It seems like the Map is totally ignoring this Conditional Style settings.
Thx for your time.

Ok, I got it Lynn. No need to response. Thx so much.

Answer: Selection the Region layer in Lock Mode, the Palette option shows on
the properties. Change as you please. Add new colors as required.

Yup, that is pretty much what I tried to explain in my first response. Glad you got it sorted out!
