Hi,

We are on Cognos 10.2.2 and we have a Real-Time DB with a requirement to see real-time data and its more of an OLTP system than a dimensional DW.

Now with DQM I understand that its strength is in caching and re-using the metadata and data caches to speed up queries.

Is there a way I can use DQM with Database only mode to cause the reports to fire queries to the DB all the time so we can still leverage the 64-bit technology but keep it real-time? Has anyone done this before and observed any issues? Has this improved or degraded performance in any way?

Even though we can set up jobs to clear DQM caches that is not the route we would like to take since the caches need to be cleared at the minimum every 1 minute to keep it as-close to real-time as possible.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

your framework manager model governor should have query re-use disabled.
if you don't know how to do this etc. contact IBM customer support.
