Hi all,

I got a requirement from an end-user to append a date stamp to the file names of reports that are sent as email attachments to him.

Found this : http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21966166

Sounds great but It doesn't work, of course I have followed these steps and reboot Cognos services but nothing happens what did I do wrong  ???

The reports I receive by email got still the same name...  :'(

Would someone already did it ?

Thanks a lot for your help

Question

Is it possible to append a date/time stamp to the file names of all reports that are sent as email attachments?

Answer

Unfortunately this functionality is not possible in versions of Cognos BI Server prior to 10.2.2.

For versions of Cognos BI Server greater than or equal to 10.2.2, you can apply this feature by enabling an environment advanced property in Cognos Administration.

To do this, follow these steps:

1) Open Cognos Administration.
2) Choose the Configuration tab.
3) Select Dispatchers and Services.
4) Select the relevant dispatcher.
4) Under 'Actions' beside "EventManagementService,' click on the 'Set Properties - EventManagementService' button.
5) Choose the Settings tab.
6) Beside Environment Advanced Settings, click 'Edit...'
7) You may need to check the "Override the settings acquired from
the parent entry" checkbox.
8) Under the Parameter column, add: emf.dls.attachment.timestamp.enabled
9) Set the value to: true.
10) Click OK, then OK again.

I confirm this parameter didn't do anything in my 10.2.2 environment either. Reach out to IBM support
