SOLVED BUT WHY?BMT-MDC-0001 Unable to publish new package after upgrade - 10.2.2

Hi everyone

We recently upgraded our Cognos installation from 10.2.1 FP3 to 10.2.2 FP3.  Everything went pretty smoothly, except that I am unable to publish a new package.  I am able to republish an existing package but not a new one.

We are running in a Windows Server 2012 environment with an Oracle datasource (11g).  We were careful to apply both the 64 and 32 bit fixpacks to the environment. I can republish an existing package but get BMT-MDC-0001 Unable to publish package when I create a new package.  I am an administrator.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Hi everyone.  I continued testing with this problem and found that the issue was with a particular model (no idea why), that I had some issues with before.  Other models could create new packages.

I created a new empty model with same parameters (CQM, languages, etc), and then pulled everything into the new model from the existing 10.2.1 model using the Metadata Wizard with the existing model as the source.

After doing this I could successfully create a new package from the new model.

Still no idea why.  There has to be a problem in the model itself that seems to disappear when I pull everything into a new model.

Glad you got it working.

Why? Well, who knows. I like a challenge as much as anyone, but sometimes it is just not worth figuring it out once you find a way to get past it.
