COGNOS Event that would show parts not in table.

What we have is an event that checks the part number against the criteria and if it is not in the criteria it submits a report.  The criteria has gotten to large to execute so I created a table in the same package but cannot figure out how to read that table in the event.  If I link the tables (because I am new to this) I am not sure how to make the criteria work.
