Hi All,
I am showing a a growth report in a crosstab with Region in rows and ytd growth in columns.
I want users to drill down on Region to Distributors and then from distributors to Rep, This will be a 2 levels drill down.

1) So Ideally I should have three cross tabs with first one having only region data and 2nd and 3 rd having filters on the top levels.

But where should i put this crosstabs in ? Should it be a deck ? Can some one give me a heads up on how to approach, so that I can try and see this.

Thanks,
Nithya

Hi,

Take a look at the attached example - is this what you need?

Yes MFGF, thats what I need. And it works perfectly.

In your sample I am able to click on the productline so that it drills down.
But in my case  I am not able to drill when I click on the product line item..rather I had to click on the fact cells corresponding to it.

What changes do I need to make this achievable.
Thanks,
Nithya

Select the crosstab, then go to the "Clickable regions" property - here you can choose what part or parts are clickable :)

Also, I implemented a same approach in chart, having single level drill down.
I clicked on region it goes to next level ,now do i need a additional button here to drill up back..
one data deck with region value, the default card contains the main chart and the data card contain the drilldown chart. Master link is given.
Now I am trying to unset the variable value in the drill down chart but it doesnot drill up.
Thanks,
Nithya

Assuming you are unsetting the correct variable, the default card of the data deck that is controlled by that variable should then appear (ie it will seem as though you drilled back up again).

I am unsetting the correct variable but it dint work, then I went ahead and added an expression in container select of the drilldown chart to vregion in empty then it worked.
Why should I set it in  select container , is that not sufficient if I just set the variable to empty.

Steps I did
1) Added a data deck and it had region items in its query
2) Default card with pie chart showing regional sales
3) Data Card with pie chart 2 showing distributor Sales
4) Chart 2 master detail link with data deck.
5) Default card pie chart 1 would select data deck.

please see below the screenshot .
Is setting the empty variable needs to be done on container select as well, it works only if I do here,
Please let me know why I should set the container select here rather than just unsetting the variable,

Thanks,
Nithya

I don't see why you need the Container Select setting - that simply applies a highlight to the chart based on the variable being set. Simply unsetting the variable ought to do the trick. That's all I had to do in my example :)

Can you please check and let me know.
