Hi,

I have avoided WS advanced in the past because of this problem, but now have to use it. I have created a very simple report in report studio and opened it in WS advanced to demonstrate

I have a level with a member called K1000 this has an attribute called member description. I put this in a crosstab as a row.

I have a level below with members L***  and this level also has an attribute called member description

So I click on K1000 and expand. the K1000 correctly expands to show L1200 etc but the member descriptions for the L*** members are missing.

Unfortunately the user needs the descriptions, how can I ensure they are visible on expansion. I have included a screen print of the expansion

This got raised with Cognos and the answer is it can't be done

What you are doing will not work as you required as the items are not linked like it is for nested items.

I have done in attach an example (nested01.jpg) where regios are nested in products. Once we expand then the regions will also expand on each product (nested02.jpg).
Now if I add 2 times products (notnested01.jpg) then when we expand there is no link to expand also the second item products and then the operation will be done only on the cell selected (notnested02.jpg).

So if you want to use the members descriptive attributes and the code (K1000...) then yes you will need to edit the element in Xcelerator Client or Architect so it have both information at the same place.
