Hi All,

Please help me in one of the issues,i had faced in last two deployments of updated package i did.

We had one package in our production, and there are several reports, query studio reports linked to it.
when we export and updated package to same path, the report link gets break. Please suggest how to avoid that.

Here is what i do :-
1) Our FM is installed in development environment. We modify the new package and publish it in dev environment with production data source connection to some xyz path (different from path where production package exists).
2) We export the package ,move the zip file to prod server and then import the package.During import we select the package deployment location manually and set it as original prod package location. On this location as of now old version of package exists.
3) We choose the default settings of export/import except do not overwrite the existing data source connection one.We use already existing data source connection setting.

4) it say that package with similar name already exists, and then we over-write it.
5) But all reports links get broken..

Please suggest possible reason why this is happening and how to avoid this.
Note :- We always de-select enable model version option during publishing package.

Thanks!

Hello Nishantsaxena,
When you do the export/import, do you select "Assign new ids" ?

Hi ,

Yes we choose the default i.e " Assign new IDs during import"

Other than that ,options i select change import/export are :- include datasource connection and include sign-on (keep existing entries)
Rest all options are kept as default.

Kindly suggest.Thanks!
