We are currently running Cognos 8.4.1 on Windows on SQL.

We had to shut down all of our servers, yesterday, without proper shut down procedures.  Once the servers were available, again, I ran my script to start all services in the proper order.  However, in my 5-server configuration (2 BI, 2 EP, and one web server), the two EP servers are running into this issue:

[ ERROR ] CAM-CRP-1192 An error occurred while attempting to contact the active Content Manager to check the freshness of the local CA information. Check your configuration to ensure that the configured URIs are valid and that there are services running at those locations. Error removing BIBus wrapper from CA Cache message. Reason: java.lang.NullPointerException

I had also received some dispatcher errors, as well.  I've tried shutting everything down and bringing it back up.  Just now, I was in the process of re-creating all of my cryptography keys.  This particular error was during the "save configuration files" after successfully generating the new cryptography keys.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

For whatever reason, once I closed the window after the save configurations error, and proceeded to start the services for the whole environment on that server, the save configurations went through with no problems, and we are back up and running...???

I am not sure if re-creating my cryptography keys ultimately resolved my content manager connectivity issues from the planning servers to the CM server, but something in this process resolved the issue.  In case this helps anyone...
