If you are just using this for testing and familiarisation, and just on your local machine, you can probably turn off the Cognos Application Firewall. Launch Cognos Configuration, select IBM Cognos Application Firewall on the left, and set the Enable CAF Validation to False.

Alternatively, you can add your domain or host name to the Valid Domains or Hosts property of the CAF and leave it enabled. You will need to save and restart after making these changes in Cognos Configuration.

Cheers!
