I have a large client that has upgraded from report net to cognos 10.1. They want to run the MotioPI Scheduler feature to see all the report schedules and email recipients. They have about 500 report. But MotioPI will not show the information they need until they open the report in report studio and it is updated/upgraded. What is the easiest way to update/upgrade all their reports? Is there a batch method to maybe validate that might do it?

Hi,

This can be defined and run from the Admin Console, yes.

Go to Launch > IBM Cognos Administration
Select the Configuration tab
Choose Content Administration on the left
Press the "New Content Maintenance" button in the top right, and select "Report Upgrade"
Work through the wizard, specifying a name, adding the folders containing the reports to be upgraded (or the packages the reports are based on), then save and run.

Cheers!

I saw the original question, and thought "Oh dear, someone here who knows what they're talking about is going to have to gently break the news that you can't go directly from CRN to C10.x, but have to pass first via C8.x", because I was sure I'd read that somewhere.

Not only was I totally wrong on that score, but I learn that there's even a tool to facilitate this upgrade. Also, it was the first time that I'd heard of a practical use for New Content Maintenance, of which I was previously only vaguely aware.

So, for all these reasons, kudos to the Mighty Muppet :)
