Friends,

I have a line chart but need to have only two lines in different colors shown in the graph. One line showing the counts of good logons and the other line to counts of all logons sold for the last 30 days of course.

Please see attached,

If someone could direct me to a good document or the options to take to have each line of the graph in different color, I'll greatly appreciate it.

I have the cube already established with the necessary measure of total logons. I just need to know the options to take using the Line Chart in Cognos to have two separate lines running I guess using Trend Lines.

Thanks so much for your time in advance.

Hi,

Assuming you have a dimension with an All Logons member at the top and two children of Good Logons and Failed Logons, you can do the following:

Select the All Logons member and the Good Logons member from the package tree and drop these two into the Series(Primary Axis) of your line chart. Drop the members for the last 30 days into the Categories (X axis) of the chart. Finally, drop the count measure into the Default Measure (Y axis)

Cheers!

MF.

Thank you,
After dropping just one of the Member Set called # of Failure into the Series(Primary Axis), I'm getting the following error when I ran the report. I attached the Query Item Snapshot showing the # of Failure.

Invalid expression ([Query4].[# of Failure] = "# of Failure"). CRX-API-0003 A data type error ocurred at or near the position '25' in expression: '([Query4].[# of Failure] = "# of Failure") '. The operand types ('double, string (varchar)') for operator 'Equal (=)' are not compatible.

Please help if you have time.
Thx so much

What a bizarre error! What happens if you just drag in the desired member from the package tree?

Have you been playing around with conditional formatting? Are there any aborted attempts at these still lying around? I would make sure by starting a new report and dropping in the relevant data...

Yes, it was the Conditional Formatting. I took it off for now! ::)
Thx and I'll return!!

I think the problem is a little deeper.
The STATUS and the ACTION are in two different Hierarchy. PLS See attached.

Not sure how to create a Data Item or Set of Members that will go after
all Actions but only the ones with the Status of "Success" or "Failure"

Thanks again!!
