Hello,

Does anyone know of any compatibility issues between Cognos BI 10.2 and Microsoft Outlook 2010 64bit edition? I have a Customer who was able to use the "File > Send" command in PowerPlay studio in version 8, however since upgrading to version 10, this is no longer possible. Everytime they try this, it gives a "server busy" notice window and doesn't do anything.

Customer is using PowerPlay client 10.2 and has Outlook 64 bit installed. Other users on the same setup cannot use this function, only one person is able to use this and he is on Windows 7 (the others are on Windows 8) and has 32bit Outlook installed.

I've checked the Supported Environments page and Windows 8 is not listed as a supported OS for 10.2, however there is no other information relating to Outlook. Can anyone shed any light??

Thanks,
Dev

Well, in the Productivity Applications section on the Microsoft Office row Under "Notes", it says:
Please note that the bit version of Office which you are running must match the bit version of Cognos for Microsoft Office installed. If you are running 32bit Microsoft Office, you must install the 32bit version of Cognos for Microsoft Office.

I am fairly certain PowerPlay is 32-bit. I do not have have Outlook 64-bit, but I can tell you from experience that a lot of 32-bit software does not play well if at all with 64-bit software. At my workplace, we have 64-bit OS installs but use 32-bit Office for this very reason.
