Hi all,

I am new to IBM Cognos. I have 2 requirement for my report.

1) I want to apply a prompt to my Map, My prompt will have regions and based on the region selection that particular region map will appear.

2)If am not selecting any prompt value, it should display a world map.

Kindly share your valuable suggestions..

Thanks,
dhendeyogi.

Hi,

If you want to use physically different map objects dependent on the prompt, you will need to create a report with all the maps in and conditionally render the appropriate one based on the prompt. Alternatively, there is an option in the properties of a map called "Expand features" which focuses in on just those parts of the map for which there is data (if you want to use one world map and just display the relevant region within it based on a filter driven by your prompt).

Regards,

MF.

Hi!

Sorry to open again this topic...I have the same requirement as dhendeyogi, and I tried something almost similar (I guess) with your suggestion MFGF. But, the world map does not show the regions that doesn't have a data. And, when I click the region with data, to drill-through to it, it doesn't show the map with that particular region only. Nothing happens. I was able to do it on a map like 'Canada' but not on the world map. I am using a relational datasource. I wonder what I am doing wrong?. Can you share the steps to do it?  ;D
