Expand and Collapse Buttons in cognos report studio

HI All,

I have a requirement that the pivot table options in cognos, in detail i want the expand and collapse in the rows so that if i expand the country all the states should open and respective data.I got the work around for this in this below link.

but the problem is  when i want to run the report in excel it is not showing the option, either it is showing as normal data.
Can any body have a solution for this..?

JS doesn't work in any output other than HTML, and there's no way I know of to interfere with the XLS that Cognos creates. Also, this isn't a simple operation in Excel - I think writing an Excel macro, which is how I usually go about this sort of requirement, for an expand/collapse functionality will be quite complex.
I don't think you can feasibly achieve this.
