Data Sources, Transformer, IQDs and crashing

Hi all, been years since I used transformer (last time was in pre CRN days), so I need help understanding a few things

I need to build a cube from IQD data sources (not negotiable - please don't suggest I just use a report or package source).  I've got the IQD query subjects in FM and have externalised them to produce the .IQD files.  The files then have a datasource name that matches the one created in Cognos Connection eg. SALESDATA.  Do I then need to define that data source connection somewhere else like in a config file?  All my reading says cognos.ini but I can't find the file with my install (c10.2).

I'm finding transformer is crashing when I'm trying to import the IQD file so trying to figure out if it is because of misconfiguration or a missing data source.

Is there anything else that needs to be configured (apart from installing IQD bridge and changing cognos configuration) when trying to get transformer up and running from a standard install to be able to use IQDs?  (I've got Cognos BI/SALESDATA/Transformer all on the one PC)

Anyone??!!  Transformer is working fine with report, package and flat file data sources, but I can't get it to read an IQD source without crashing.....

Do you have Series7 gateway installed (part of transformer installation, usually installed by default) and is it configured?
Do a google search for "cs7g.ini". You need to define your datasource in cs7g.ini. Same syntax as in series7.
