Timeout setting for scheduled reports

My understanding is that the query execution timeout setting in the FM model governors does not apply to scheduled reports (or reports that are sent to run in the background). So is there a way to configure a timeout setting for scheduled reports?

We have some scheduled reports that will come back in 10 mins (most times) but sometimes run away and not come back for hours - we have to manually kill the process. We should probably get to the root of why that might be happening, but in the meantime, any option to automatically kill runaway reports like this would help.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,

There is setting in cognos administration "Maximum execution time for batch report service" you can set this as per our requirement.

e.g. if you set this to 3 hrs then any report running in background will be cancelled automatically once it reaches to 3 hrs.
Thanks
