Forecasting in Cognos 10.2.1 in Report Studio

Hi All,

I am working on an area chart in Cognso 10.2.1.

I need to use the forecasting capability in Cognos to predict the sales for next two days.

The X axis contains days and I need to forecast Sales for say next 3 days. Any idea as to how can this be achieved in Cognos.

Any help/ guidance is appreciated.

Hi,

As of 10.2.1 there is no forecasting capability native to Cognos 10 BI. IBM used to sell an additional install called IBM Cognos 10 Statistics which provided statistical reporting capabilities in Report Studio, but as of 10.2.1 this was deprecated.

For forecasting you could use TM1 or SPSS, but both of these are additional licenses.
