Hi all,

I have a cognos mobile sample report which runs but doesn't come up with the completed report. Although it has the ability to give prompt options, it doesn't render after the report is run. I am using the cognos mobile URL to get access via browser.

Could anyone plz help.

Thanks is advance.

Hi,

First question - is this an Active Report? If so, it will not render in the Mobile browser interface - only in the Mobile app on an iPad.

If it's not an Active Report, does the report render properly when using the non-mobile URL? What happens if you use the mobile URL in your normal browser on your computer?

Cheers!

Hi MFGF,

Thanks for the reply.

No these are the samples mobile reports.

I still cannot view the reports when I run in the reports in my browser (chrome, IE doesn't seem to work).

Although I can send the reports to mobile device when I run the reports and can view it (only in android), I just cant view the run reports if I open up the URL in any mobile devices.

"Samples mobile reports"? Do you mean the normal samples?

I just tried this from Firefox ESR17 on my laptop. I entered the mobile URL (http://<hostname>/ibmcognos/m), logged in, navigated to the samples folder, into Models, into GO Sales (query) and successfully ran a couple of reports. Can you confirm that you can't do this in your Cognos instance?

I also tried this in Chrome - it worked fine too. I'm running Cognos 10.2.1.

What version of Cognos 10 are you using? Is Chrome supported for your version?

Cheers!

Yes, I can run the mobile URL using Firefox  and Chrome

It lets me see all the samples report to be run on the location you have mentioned, but when i actually click on the report and run it, it seems to run for a while and comes up with a blank screen.

I am running 10.2.1 as well.

Weird! Works for me in both FF ESR17 and Chrome 28.0.1500.72 m

Whats you sever settings? Does your work on Both android and apple?

I have a distributed environment, when i tried it out as a single server it works.

My environment is as follows:
32 Gateway
Disp 1 64
Disp 2 32
Primary CM 64

MFGF

Mine is a single server with 64-bit everything :)

I have installed 64 mobile on 64 disp1 and 32 mobile on 32 disp 2
I can view the reports after I select send to mobile option when i run the report in Cognos Connection

Any other ideas?

I have the same issue that Cog_rookie had. Anyone found the issue/fix?

Thanks

Cog_rookie

Hi Sheranh,

The reason why Mobile was not working cause of our environment settings.

In the gateway, we now have the public IP instead of a computer name. We changed the dispatcher settings to IP addresses instead of Computer names.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Did you solve this issue, using the trick informed by the other user ?

bdbits

We recently had some problems like this. Oddly enough, in our case it seems it was related to encryption. For legacy reasons we were still sitting at 56-bit encryption. In troubleshooting, the admin bumped it to 128-bit and things started working much better. We still had some other issues but ensuring we had the latest fixpacks applied to Cognos server, mobile, and the mobile client appears to have fixed those.

A new dashboarding project for some managers using tablets starts next week, so hopefully everything will work from here on out.  8)
