COGNOS FRAMEWORK MANAGER - "getSessionValue is null" (SOLVED)

I have installed cognos BI 10.1.1 ( 64 BIT VERSION ) and COGNOS FRAMEWORK MANAGER 10.1.1 ( 32 bit version ) in Windows 2008 (64 bit version). When I try to connect to a new DB ( DB2 DBMS ) in Framework Manager I have this error : "the value of the property 'getSessionValue' is null or undefined, not a Function object" URL http://localhost:9300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch. Any ideas? Sergio

Hi,

It sounds like the FM configuration may be pointing to a dispatcher within the C10 instance which doesn't exist or is unreachable. Can you compare it with the dispatcher defined in the main Cognos 10 64 bit configuration to see whether they are the same?

The installation made GATEWAY URI http://localhost:80/ibmcognos/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi but I had problems with this url with COGNOS FRAMEWORK. So I changed to http://localhost:9300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch to every configurations ( COGNOS B I , COGNOS FRAMEWORK). Probably it's wrong but I don't know where to look for I different URI. Sergio

IBM Cognos BI Server 10.1.1 has these components:
Application Tier,Gateway,Content Manager,Cognos Content DB.

I installed a new COGNOS Framework in Windows 2003 with this URI http://MyServer:9568/tarf/servlet/dispatch/ext

The COGNOS Server is a Windows 2008 with Common Reporting ver. 2.1.1 .

When I Open Cognos Framework I have this error:

"BMT-MD-0003 DPR-ERR-2008 Il dispatcher non è in grado di elaborare la richiesta. La richiesta è indirizzata a un nome di servizio sconosciuto: http://www.ibm.com/xmlns/prod/cognos/contentManagerService/201301/.DPR-ERR-2082 Si è verificato un errore. Contattare l'amministratore. L'errore completo è stato registrato da CAF con SecureErrorID:2013-10-14-16:48:07.558-#98"

Hi,

What hostname are you using to point to your Cognos server from your FM configuration? Localhost won't work as this points back to the local machine. I think you just need to change the external dispatcher URI in the FM configuration to point to the relevant hostname where your Cognos server is installed.

On a side note, are you using Cognos 10 BI or Cognos Express? If you are using BI, it sounds like you have not configured your web server correctly.

Thank you for the answer. I think that it was a problem of the version. Now I have TIVOLI COMMON REPORTING 3.1.0.1 and COGNOS FRAMEWORK MANAGER 10.2 so I prefer to close this topic. I have a new problem with a string connection in FRAMEWORK MANAGER but I think I need  to open a new topic. Sergio
