I have a percentage column whch i need to summarize. Even after setting all the aggregation properties such as Aggregate Function and Rollup aggregate function to Automatic/Calculated I have not been  getting the proper summary. Instead i`m getting the minimum value for the % from the details.

Ex : For %  column values : 76% 78% 56% 65% , Summary is coming as 56% which is the minimum of all the values.

How do I go about this problem in Cognos 8

If your percentage is calculated in the report (i.e. column with x / y) then using "Automatic" for both the "Aggregate Function" and "Rollup Aggregate Function" will work. You can also try using "Calculated" for both. Basically the "Aggregate Function" is used to rollup the values when "Auto Group & Summarize" is set to yes for the query, it applies some logic depending on the datatype. The "Rollup Aggregate Function" is used for summary values like totals.

Is this a dimensional source (cube) in a crosstab?  Solve order may be playing a part as well.
No, a proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof, and when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven.
