Hi all,

We are in process for integrating Cognos 10 with Sharepoint. Sharepoint server that we have, is in cloud and we are not allowed to make any modifications in sharepoint server.
All of the documents that I went through talks about copying files and making some modifications in Sharepoint server.

Here are the questions:

1. We have two authentication defined (say one for US and other UK). We have sinlge sign on enabled on both. In normal scenario, we are prompted to select the domain through drop down.
Looking forward to eliminate this drop down, when accessing through sharepoint.
Tried this set up but it didn't work.

2. We would like to see the report output content directly in the sharepoint. Like Dashboard or Pie chart or a map.
Is it possible ? if so, how do we do without touching sharepoint server.

Thank You,
dms

Sharepoint integration is tricky to begin with. The fact that you can't touch your sharepoint cloud server tells me that I doubt you'll be able to link it to Cognos. It even states in the docs that you need admin access.

QuoteBefore you begin

Before deploying the Cognos portlets, ensure that IBM Cognos Business Intelligence, including IBM Cognos Connection and Portal Services, is installed and configured. Also ensure that the following conditions are met:

You have administration access to the IIS server computer that hosts SharePoint.
You have administration access to the IBM Cognos BI installation directory c10_location/cps/sharepoint.
WSS Language Template Pack, required for other supported languages is installed, one for each language.

For information about operating system and SharePoint-related updates, see the conformance information on the IBM Cognos Resource Center Web site (http://www.ibm.com/software/data/cognos/customercenter/).

Ensure that your operating system is updated with any necessary patches.

The admin access is only for set up, as I recall. Cognos has some usable webparts bundled for navigation, search, etc. but to use them obviously they have to be installed on the SharePoint server. If you cannot in any way have anything installed on the SharePoint server, the best you are probably going to get is using action URLs in an iFrame, or links that pop it open in a new browser window. This could present challenges with authentication using a cloud-based SharePoint server, but might be workable (too many unknowns to say for sure). Not exactly integration, but it might be better than nothing.

If you don't about action URLs, look at the properties on one of your reports. In the upper right is a link to "View the search path, ID and URL". Click that, and you should see the last item listed as "Default action URL". You can use that as a link directly to the report.
