Cognos manual SQL and data refresh

Greetings cognos gurus,

Does Cognos take time to refresh any database updates.

A user experienced a lag of more than couple of hours between the data refresh and the cognos report output.

She saw the results only after some time .Could it be that she accidentally clicked on a previous report output version.

To my knowledge, Cognos does a dynamic sync with the database.

Not an answer, but it could also be possible that the database is keeping some sort of cache.

Well, it could that caching is the issue, but not the database, but Cognos itself. We never allow caching to be used when running reports on transactional 'life' applications. Within 1 session results from cache may be used instead of the latest data. Therefore we explicitly set the re-use of caching on report queries to 'no'
