Manage External Data - Issue with decimal places - Help!

Hi all,

I hope you can help with an issue I am having when using the 'Manage External Data' function in Report Studio (Cognos BI 10.1)

I find that on importing the data from an external file, Cognos truncates values and refuses to import more than 2 decimal places. Within the Data Attributes options (image attached) I have set the data type to 'Decimal' and selected the number of decimal places (zero up to seven) but nothing seems to work!

Has anyone else experienced this issue and able to shed some light?
