10.1 Deployment Export Issues

Hi all,
I'm doing a full export (model and data) manually via the deployment tool - no problems. When I schedule the export using a macro it fails with one error -
"unable to export users: org.jawan.COM Exception 800407db unable to find object{xxxxx} in the PAD"

makes me think it's some sort of permissions thing that is stopping it working via the schedule.

As an aside we had hoped to use this as our main backup strategy. In 8.3 I had created a number of scripts to stop the services ,copy all the relevant file and folders, perform database backups and then restart the lot. now that you can schedule a deployment we thought it would be simpler to go with that. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks.

Hey,

Try this TN:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21449098

If that doesn't work, and if you are including the analyst libraries in the original export, try running a new export without the libraries and then call this new export from the macro; this is just to confirm if the libraries are part of the problem.

Hey,

been on holiday hence the delay in the reply  ;D - managed to get the export working fine - its running with no errors via a schedule.
I followed the instructions in the link you provided and only selected the objects that I was interested in to export. So all good.

when attempting to test the import into our DR environment I'm having issues though.
"unable to import application ..... may be corrupted .. you should restore from a database backup" I'm taking database backups separately and have tested restoring this successfully. I'm baffled as to why the import won't work though.

In DR I've removed the library from analyst, removed the application from CAC and manually removed the database. The import is giving me the above error. I've searched the IBM site for possible workarounds.
1. removing client settings.xml and client settings folder
2. removing extension.xml, extintersection.xml and the extension folder and extintersection folder
3. renaming the users file
None of these have made any difference. the job now seems to hang for a number of hours after it has created the database and populated the tables. It then gives the error above.

any suggestions??
thanks again.
