DMB-ECB-0088 -> Crosstab vs. Lists

HI Guys,

im having issues with a detail fact report. The report runs for about 45 minutes and creates an error like mentioned, DMB-ECB-0088.
Though im using a lot of parameters (5-6 Dimension which greatly reduce the amount of rows of the fact table) im still getting this error.
Apparently, the data volume is 2 big to be handled within the temp. cube which cognos generates for the crosstab.

The strange thing: ive analysed the sql and using a count in my sql client using the same parameters the query will return in 10 seconds.
I even further reduced the amount of data down to 317 rows, im STILL getting this error.

BUT: After changing the crosstab in the report to a list, the reports will return without error in an acceptable performance.

Using Cognos 10.2
Metadata Modell: DMR (no DQM)
The cognos machine is not that big, 4 CPU if im not wrong.

Any ideas? Ive searched the internet a bit and found out that there are some configurations in some xml files i could try 2 adapt, but i think this solution wont make my client happy.
I would higly appreciate your thoughts and epxeriences =)

You're not using detail filters on a dimensional data source, are you?

You may have already done these things, but since you are looking for ideas...

Have you tried running report trace? May or may not help, but worth a shot in my mind.

Start removing things from the report (or a copy of the report) until it runs. Or rebuild it with say one fact and one dimension, building it up until you have the same query. The idea being to see if there is one thing tipping it over the edge, which might get you pointed in the right direction to the source of the problem.
