Can you import external data (spreadsheet) into a dimesional package?

I suppose it is possible (not tried it yet), as you can use Excel workbooks within a Cognos model. However, you need very straightforward data in the worksheet and it would be better to upload the excel data to a regular table in a batch job. This will perform much better I guess

The answer is yes - you can do this, although you will not be able to join the flat external data with your dimensional data directly. The two sets of data will be available within the same package, but you will need to bring them in to different reporting containers then use master/detail to link them.
