Activity Management problems

I have a couple of issues with activity management in Cognos 10.1.  First, it seems to not pick up most of the reports that are running.  If I check the Audit package this morning, it shows 78 reports have run in the last 4 hours. However, if I look at "Past Activities" in Cognos Administration, it only shows seven reports in the last 4 hours.  All of the options are set to "Any".  It seems to only show the scheduled activities, but I want to see interactive activities, too.  Is there a way to make it show interactive activities?

The other issue is the lag time.  If I kick off a long-running report, then check to see it executing in "Current Activities", it doesn't appear for almost a full minute after I have started the report.  And if I cancel the report, it doesn't disappear from the current activities list for another 1-2 minutes.  Is there a more real-time method to monitor report activity, which is current within a few seconds?

I feel like I can't trust the results in the activity management tools.  So for example, if I need to restart a service, I have no idea if I would be impacting a large number of users at that moment.

This is a real trap. "Past Activities" reports on report "history", which are set in report properties, whereas audit tables report on all activity. History default setting never truly stores all activity. Thus if history for a scheduled task is set at say 4, and it runs every 5 minutes, in past activities you only see the last 20 minutes of its activities. Past activities is never a good source of all activity!

I also meant to mention that Past Activities only shows history of background tasks, never interactive tasks. You can only get a complete picture from the audit tables. Even then the audit tables do not allow easy collation of Analysis Studio usage. It can be done but it is not as obvious as getting usage stats of the other studios.
