Hi,
I 'm creating a dashboard in report studio with several charts, each display different measures. The series are the same for all of them.
I have sorted the series for each chart based on the measure. Is it possible to make the series-color match between the charts?

Meaning Series X always is e.g. green in all the charts, and series Y is e.g. yellow in all the charts

I'm running Cognos 10.2

Hi,

If all the series values are represented in all the charts (and they are all sorted in the same order), simply using the same pallette in your charts should suffice. However, if some series are missing in some charts, this will not work. In that case, define a conditional pallette for each chart where you specify the colour of each series.

Cheers!

MF.

As the charts are sorted based on different measures, eg. quantity, revenue, cost etc. The sort order is different from one chart to another.

Using the GO sales as an example (see attachment), in one chart, sorted on quantity, the region order is:
Americas
Asia Pacific
Central Europe
Northern Europe
Southern Europe

in another, sorted on unit cost, it is:
Central Europe
Southern Europe
Asia Pacific
Northern Europe
Americas

In my case the series are stores, and there are a couple of hundred stores, meaning using conditional formatting can't be used...any other suggestion? Or haven't the Cognos developers had dashboarding in mind when developing?

You'd need to ask the Cognos development team what they had in mind :)

As far as I know, your only option is to use conditional pallettes.

MF.
