Hey Gurus,

I am trying to upgrade Cognos Planning from v8.4 to v10.1. Someone had already installed Cognos Planning v10.1 on the server. Cognos Planning Analyst and Manager are running absolutely fine. However, when I try to launch Cognos Planning Admin Console, I get the message as attached in the file.

After installing Cognos 10.1, I actually made sure that the Planning store and content store point to new databases. However, those databases do reside with other Cognos 8.4 planning store and content store. So, as for the databases, the server is the same..but the databases are different for Cognos 8.4 and Cognos 10 Planning store and content store.

Can someone please help me out here?

Thanks,
Chai

Hi Chai,

The only way you would get a prompt like you are receiving in the screenshot is if the planning store database contains previous 8.4 content.  With that said, given that your are able to get into analyst and manager without problems, this tells me that the planning tables inside the planning store were already created.

You may want to make sure that your environmental configuration is correct on all of your servers.
