how to restrict the column in report studio

hi all,

am new to cognos
am generating a list report in report studio. i would like to avoid the column from report based on a condition. how can i do this? thanks in adv

HI

I'm not sure you can exclude a column from a report but you can use a render variable to show or hide a column based on a variable.

Basically you need to come up with a variable that equates to true or false then use that as the render variable (in the properties box) for the column(s) you want to hide/show.

Hi,
in the Condition explorer panel create a Boolean Variable. Inside the properties panel of the variabile insert the condition (report expression). Then go to the page and select the column you want to hide. Select the Boolean Variable from the Condition explorer and choose YES or NO (it depends on the condition). In the properties panel of the column select the Boolean Variable in the cell "Style Variable". Then select "Box type" NONE.
