Issues with C 10.1.1

Hi,

I just installed C 10.1.1 and am noticing that in several reports that run fine in 10.1.0, the chart results are not correct, and some of our dynamic dashboards are not working as well.  Has anyone else encountered issues with 10.1.1?

I had Build 10.1.4707.517 which was Cognos 10.1 installed then SP1 applied on one server and recently went with Build 10.1.6235.601 which is 10.1.1 as delivered from IBM.

in my 10.1 with SP1 install Business Insight worked great
In my 10.1.1 Everything appears the same but Business Insight no longer allows me to save a workspace with a simple Pie Chart in it. I have an Open PMR with IBM on the issue.
I removed the 10.1.1 and replaced it with the 10.1 SP1 and business insight was working again.

Hopefully IBM will have a solution for me soon...
My environment is old at the moment and this may be part of the issue I am on Windows 2003 Servers with a 32Bit install of Cognos. I am moving to AIX next year but I need this working now :)

Another thing that changed with 10.1 SP1 and 10.1.1 - both from the 10.1 build is the way HTML objects are used in Report Studio - and in any Dashboards from RS I use as a Dashboard Portal.
The change is not a show stopper but it is annoying.
I had a Dashboard that had a series of analytics on the right 2/3 of the "Dashboard Report" - on the left 1/3 I have a series of Boxes that contain links to reports "Accident Year Reports", "Calendar Year Reports" etc

because we had over 20 report links the users asked for a Popup Image to get a preview of the report. I used Java Script in an HTML Object to deliver this in Cognos 8.4.1. Now when a users mouse hovers over the link an image of the report pops up - the users love it, though it is really just fluff...

I tested this on 10.1 and ran it fine for about 6 months, when I upgraded to 10.1 SP1 and then on another server to 10.1.1 when it became available I lost this functionality and haven't found a way to deliver the same "flash" as we had before.

The links still work, but the popup doesn't and I believe this is due to how the HTML objects are being handled now, with more focus on the Active Reporting capabilities.

My solution is going to be to find a way to embed the images into the Report itself somehow and display them that way - I just haven't found a way of doing it yet.

As I said fluff really...

I love all the new capabilities in 10, and I assume IBM will instruct me on what I am doing wrong on 10.1.1 with Business Insight, I hope :)

We too are experiencing reports that ran under 10.1 not running or experiencing problems under 10.1.1

We can no longer get muliple cascading prompt to run correctly
the third prompt in a cascading set no does not casced or filter from the second prompt it just shows the complete un cascaded list

Is this a feature or a bug?

Hi,

I've seen additional issues with portal pages not displaying properly and weird IE errors appearing when clicking on prompts.  I've figured out various workarounds, but the cases I brought forth to IBM have been logged as bugs.  Don't know when they will be resolved.  Try IBM support and see if someone else is experiencing the same problem.
