hi,
we hav 5 star schemas in the DW each of them unconnected independent of each other of theres the  problem is only with one star schema. when i try to add a propmt to it , the prompt list gets built but aftter select the value when u click finish the reports doesnot run but shoots an error

UDA-SQL-0114 The cursor supplied to the operation "APICursor::OpenResult" is inactive. UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during the operation "AOpen".

I hav even tried to set the processing to limited local but it didnot help the cause. we are facing the same problem even in the AS400 database.

This seems like a data mismatch.  You couldn't have found a more general error, so it's hard to say for sure.  What data type are you prompting against?
No, a proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof, and when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven.

Get the generated report query and see if it will run directly against the database.  Does it return the correct result?

hi MDXpressor & tdyoda,
i am sorry for not hving replied eariler itself i just got busy with another batch of reports. so its like this the prompts work fine when i connect them to actual prompts on prompt pgs but they dont work when i am testing them frm the query explorer. its funny bcos abt half an hr bfor this started happening everthing was working fine but i hav no clue what happened during tht half hr even now sometimes i cant test my queries with prompts frm the query explorer

I'm not sure I understood this, but I will go out on a limb...

It sounds like you are attempting to view the Tabular Data from within the Query Explorer, and when you do so, your prompt page is not being generated.

Viewing Tabular Data does not engage the prompt pages.  What actually occurs is it provides you a system generated prompt page and populates it with data directly from the package.
