Dear all,

How is it possible to get an automatic email when a scheduled report has failed ?
I'm really "newby" in Cognos audit, as you can see ....

Thanks in advance,
Vinc.

HI
If you want to Send Automatic E-mail Then use Scheduler in Cognos Content.Select your Package item and select your Saved Report. In Right side of the Report one small icon is Visible  i.e Scheduler click that
and Schedule your Report.and Select Valid E-Mail Address.that is Required in your for Sending E-mail to Recipients.....

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.
I think I haven't correctly described what I was searching, and in the same time I have found the solution.
So, I have set up a Audit Log at database level in Cognos + edit the properties in Cognos Adminstration related to Audit Logging Level for some interesting "categories".
Now, in the new schema dedicated to the Cognos audit, I can work on some tables, and ask to Oracle to send me an email depending on some values or statuses.

Or you can use Cognos Event Studio (if you have this tool, that is) (instead of scheduling something in Oracle). In Event Studio, you can setup a rule that when the Cognos audit db or content store has a particular "error" captured in the associated table/column: to send you an e-mail upon the occurence. That way, you will get an e-mail right away. I used to have an event created that would e-mail me any time anyone would receive any error in Cognos, just to be in the know. That then got annoying, since I realized, that Report Authors/Business Authors tend to get a lot of SQL/syntax errors in the process of designing a new report. :) These are obviously not necessarily a concern for an admin.

Hi PolzovatelCognos,

Thanks, it is true that don't always think about the Cognos Event Studio, as it is not in our "scope" for the moment, so I can't work with itbut I should not forget that this tool exists (may be one day I'll have the possibility to use it).
I smiled with your story:I imagine the number of email you might have received ... ;-)
Hopefully I'm just interested in "batch report service", for a set of daily scheduled reports. Easy enough to filter, so I don't have more info / email than expected.
