Hi ,

Till now I am running the COGNOS Reportnet on IIS, but as a switchover in the architecture now i need to configure the COGNOS on SUN ONE WEBSERVER. Can any one provide the Guidelines on how to approach. Already installed the Sun ONE Webserver, ut i dont have any idea on configuring Cognos Reportnet with Sun one webserver.

Any documents or Links or greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi Kalyan

I am going out on a limb here.

You are only changing the web server and not the LDAP server so there should not be any change to your ReportNet configuration because of the switchover.

I can think of the following changes on the web server side.

1) All you will need to do is ensure that you create the virtual directories by hand since ReportNet is already installed.

2) Ensure correct permissions on virtual folders. In IIS you would have to grant scripts and execute permission on the cgi-bin virtual directory and just scripts on the remaining.

On the ReportNet configuration side you will need to remove the ISAPI gateway if you had one. You could revert to the CGI gateway.

If you need step-by-step instructions, look it up in Cognos Documentation PDFs.

If you find it difficult to follow, schedule some billable time or get some training.

Hi,

??? I guess i clearly conveyed in my early posting that i already have the Cognos running on IIS. As i reinstalled everything in new system in which i need to use Sun One Webserver instead of IIS. So i dont know how to create virtual directories in Sun One Webserver if that concept exists? So i would like to know how to integrate the Cognos and Sun One Webserver.

I guess this forum is for posting the issues, i know i can go to Cognos Support by paying some bucks i can get the help. so wat do the Forum do then ? I dont mean to hurt any

Thanks
