Hi gurus,
please help me out here is my requirement i need to create an environment for production, development & testing.
1.   Each environment has 1 Sql instance, except for Production, where the DB server will work in a VM(VMware) configured in Fault Tolerant mode.
2.  Everything  is a single server deployment  using the VMware virtualization platform.
3. Database to be used for Cognos Content Store? MS SQL SERVER DB 2008 Enterprise 64-Bit
4. Web Server (like IIS etc) or can we deploy using IBM's HTTP Server? Please share if you've any recommendation.
5.  What would be the authentication mechanism for Cognos? MS-Active Directory is the root domain LDAP ( for Dev , production and testing
6. What Operating System- MS Windows 2008 Server 64-bit R2
7. All modules of Cognos to be installed.
8. Our scope of work is a single instance deployment in Development, Test & Production environment. Anyways, HA is being maintained at Dynamic Infrastructure Platform offered by VMware, which doesn't require failover or NLB based system configuration for HA. From deployment perspective we just need to install a single instance, which will be augmented by VM-HA, vMotion and VM-FT for providing redundance and availability for the same.

which has to be installed and configured though i am not from cognos administration i need to install it is very urgent if have any of the similarity doc/pdf's/snapshopts please share with me.

thanks in advance

A good place to start is with the standard documentation.  I'd suggest probably the Installation and Configuration guide is the one to visit first...
