Good Day.

I have installed Cognos 10 64bit on a few servers and local laptop and all are running without much issue. However, on one particular server it fails to start up Configuration Manager with the following error:
cogconfigw.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because icuin40.dll was not found.....

I have done a comparison between all servers and the files are in fact there and in correct paths.
I have reinstalled. This has made no difference.

Spec:
Windows Server 2007 SP2
Cognos 10.1.0 X64.

Any ideas

Allan

Hi Allan,

Please would you re-clarify what the Server O/S is as there is no server called Windows server 2007.  Is it Windows Server 2008?

Many thanks

Hi,

The best place to start looking is in Program Files\ibm\cognos\c10\instlog.  Check all the log files to see if any transfer or install errors were logged on that particular machine.  Usually these kinds of issues are caused by incomplete transfers from the install media to disk, often because of a shortage of disk space.

MF.

Hi MF.

Problem found within the transfer of install files to server. Thanks for the 'heads up'.
C10 now up and running, with TM1 datasource issues unfortunately.
