Hi Guys,
We have IBM Cognos Planning 8.4.1

Last year, we moved the first installation of content store database to new server (server a) but not the planning store database (server b)

Actually, the planning store (server b) is use for test  because the specifics technical is lower than "server a".
We need change the planning store database to "server a"

pd: we have 42 contributor applications and theirs links.

Hi Manu,

If you've got 8.4.1, I'd be inclined to use Deployments to migrate your apps.  The process would be:

1) Export deployment from current setup
2) Create new PAD/planning store on new DB server (cognos configuration), then start services
3) Import deployment into new setup

I've usually been a superuser on systems in the past, the one thing I'm not 100% sure comes through is rights you've given at PAD level.  E-list rights and Analyst security will be mapped through automatically if your security config is the same (which it will be if all you change is the Planning Store location).

Kind Regards,
Alexis

Hey guys,

I'm on board with the deployment approach.  It is the easiest way to wrap everything up.  I can confirm, Alexis, that if you select the Planning Store check box at the top it'll grab the access rights associated with the source PAD and import it into the Target PAD.  The only "gotcha" is that the list of access rights has to exist prior to the import.  So Manu, if you have access rights configured in the source environment with a mix of users/groups/roles from both the cognos namespace and your external, you will need to re-add this list in order for the deployment to remap their settings.

I believe there was a bug with an earlier version..  I know I did some testing with this between 2 versions, just can't recall which ones. :)

Cheers,
Eric
