I don't think I understand the difference between the two.  I think they are used for creating a new column that contains the a calculation based on another column.  However, anything past that I'm lost.  Can a member also be a measure or vice versa?

Calculated Measure is a Calculaion which you would create to do like Price * Qty = Revenue. It will be a column that will show the calculated values.

Calculated member is something you would use when using a OLAP package. A Member can be a data item belonging to a certain heirarchy.

Thanks, I guess calculated measure is what I was looking.  The definition for calculated member makes me  :o ??? :-[ :-\

The only thing I understand is what OLAP stands for :-\...

I'll keep your post in mind while researching so I can better understand.
