To All,

I have already setup Windows 2003, MSSql2000 and Cognos 8.4.

On the last part of the setup who is Create Planning tables, when I launch Planning Analyst it ask for User and Password, when I supply my Cognos Admin ID
which I created from Windows2003 it doent work, but when I login thru Web browser my Cognos Admin user and password are okay.  :-[

Any idea on how to correct this problem.

BTW, Cognos Planning is running on Windows Services.

TIA

You need to use Contributor Administration Console to complete the installation for Planning.  Analyst initially never worked for this, and it's been a long time since I tried.  So, open Contributor Administration Console, and once it finishes (status messages will pop up), close the Contributor Admin Console, and you should be able to open Analyst.

When I open either Contributor Admin or Planning Analyst a window will popup asking for user and password, but when I put my cognos admin user and password it doesnt let me in, I disabled Cognos Anonymous access and create a NTLM Windows Authentication in Cognos Configurator maybe this will help you identify the problem.

TIA.

I delete Windows Authentication - NTLM and use cognos security on default now its okay but how can I enable the Windows Authentication, where I want my user to be controlled in Windows 2000 server?

Your IIS permissions on folders might be wrong - set cgi-bin to Integrated Windows and turn off Anonymous access for that virtual directory

You may also need to set the SingleSignonOption/IdentityMapping key/value pair for the authentication source
