Issues with drill throughs in portal tabs

I have a portal tab with a single Cognos viewer portlet. The report attached to the viewer has several drill thoughs. The targets of those drill thoughs also have additional drill throughs. Sounds simple and it is, I've set up similar systems in many other sites. When a user activates the first drill through everything works as expected. Any further drill through attempts ends with the following error:

The user agent is listed as Mozilla, but I'm using IE8. I do not have an earlier version of IE to test it with.

I should also stress that it works 100% fine inside a report viewer, when run from RS or directly from the portal. It's only when it's run from inside a portal tab that it fails.

Does this work, or you have already done that, and still facing the same issue.

Disable the debug option in IE. Steps:1. Within Internet Explorer select Tools > Internet Options.
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Tick the option Disable script debugging under the Browsing section.

Didn't work, and besides wouldn't be a good solution. I can't tell the users to go into the internet options to change things.

From further testing it looks like it only effects self drillthroughs. So if I'm trying to pass a parameter to the same report it fails. Drills to other reports still work... The dirty solution would be to create two reports.

are you on 8.4.1? if yes have you applied the FP2. I think the dirty solution you mentioned if it works, is the better way...
