Filter kriterium on hierachy level 3 and Display of higher hierachy level

Hi Folks,

for a report I need a filter criterium on a "product" level of a dimension. For this I would like to see the turn over and the amount of sales of the products, where I filter all products, with no turn over during a time periode. For the upper management I need this report on the product range level (upper of product level).

When I try to fix it as context, I loose the filter when I select the product range level. The definition of a user specific data set is not possible (or I do not know how) because the list is to long to do a selection.

Every help is very welcome.

Thanks for it

Mike ???

Hi Mike,

This sounds like a report, not an analysis.  Why are you trying to use Analysis Studio to do this?

Hi MFGF,

because I do not have any experience in dimensional reporting in report studio, no other reason.

same story than in Analysis studio. But meanwhile I try to use dim reporting in report studio. So so so good :-(

The report structure is clear to me and more or less ready. But the filter make some troubles. To filter a dimensional structure on e certain level, I have read, that is possible to define on which level the filter will work. It works fine as far as I have both levels in report (range and product). After cutting product to get the aggregated values, the report is empty.

Do you have a tip or solution?

Mike

What approach have you used for your filtering?  Are you using a detail filter in the query or are you using dimensional expressions?

I tried to use the evaluation filter (hope the expression is the right one, I am using a german system). and dimensional structure. The detail selection was the point which is not clear to me.

Tks.

Sorry - don't quite follow.

Are you using
a) a Detail filter
b) a Summary filter
c) a Slicer filter
d) A dimensional expression using (for example) the filter() function
e) A set of selected members?

I tried two different ways:

a) Analysis Studio

Enter both hierachy levels in report show the right value, but no aggrigation on 1st level. Cut the 2nd level loose the filter.

to define a set of selected members is not possible, because due to paging it is not possible to select all members.

b) Report Studio

I try to use Summary filter, but does not work in the way I need if I entered the condition to aggigate on the 2nd level and show 1st level.

Greetings
