Order of Items in a Dimension

Does anyone know if there is a technique to get dimensional items ordered?

My timescale originally was ordered correctly.  Then I added some historical data to the fact table and the Timescale dimension is now not in the correct order.

This of course causes problems for my reports that use functions like openingperiod() and tail().

I believe that in 8.4 there is functionality to order the items in a dimension but currently were on 8.2 and I was hoping there might be a way to fix this.

Thanks

After some testing I have been able to determine that the visual order of the items in the dimension is not always the order that the OLAP functions use.

I was able to get the report working but the visual order of the dimensional items is still wrong.  I believe the fix here was to set the sort order of the data item used for my time dimension.

Anyone have any info on this?
